Dato' Dr. Md Khir Abdul Rahman was born on 2nd August, 1947 in Kanchut, Alor Setar, Kedah. He received his early education at the Sultan Abdul Hamid College, Alor Setar before enrolling himself at the University of Malaya. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree, specializing in Mathematics. Subsequently, he continued his studies at the State University of Ghent, Belgium, where he graduated with a Master's degree in Agricultural Development and later obtained his Doctorate in Science, specializing in Computerization and Statistics.

Career

In appreciation of his services and contributions, he was awarded several awards which include the Dato' Setia DiRaja Kedah (D.S.D.K.) which carried the title Dato' from HRH the Sultan of Kedah.
