Dato' Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohammad Noor was born on 12 December 1947
in Jeniang, Kedah. After passing his Senior Cambridge examination
in 1964 at Ibrahim Secondary School, Sungai Petani, he continued
his studies at Technical College, Kuala Lumpur and obtained a Diploma
in Civil Engineering in 1969. In 1972, he graduated with a Bachelor
of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Strathclyde,
Glasgow, Scotland. Three years later, he obtained a Masters of Science
in Hydraulics, Hydrology and Coastal Dynamics from the same university.
His deep interest in engineering was duly recognised when he was
conferred a Doctor of Philosophy in 1985 from the University of
Strathclyde.
