Y.B. Datuk Azimi bin Daim was born on 22 April 1964 in Sungai Petani, Kedah. He was educated at Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Ibrahim, Sungai Petani and later at Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Dato' Klana Maamor, Seremban. He graduated from Universiti Teknologi Mara, Shah Alam (UiTM) and later continued his studies at University of Hartford, USA.

• Political Secretary to Minister (2001)
• Kedah State Executive Councillor (Education Portfolio)
  

Among the state awards and honours bestowed on him are Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (P.J.K), D.M.S.M which carries the title Datuk and Dato' Setia Di Raja Kedah (D.S.D.K.) in 2006.
