The Menteri Besar, after conferring with the State Council, must decide on the day for the installation of the Sultan. Then the Menteri Besar tells the State Council's decision to His Highness the Sultan for approval.

Once the suggestion had been approved, His Highness the Sultan will himself inform His Majesty The Yang DiPertuan Agong, Their Highnesses the Sultans, and Their Excellencies the Governors, via a letter, as to the date His Highness the Sultan of Kedah Darul Aman is to be installed.

At the same time, the Menteri Besar must inform the Prime Minister, through a letter, as to the date His Highness the Sultan of Kedah Darul Aman is to be installed.

The Menteri Besar must also appoint a Working Committee for the Installation, with himself as the chairman. This Working Committee has the power to appoint other ad hoc committees, and is the parent body to be referred to before making any decisions.
